The Fund Development Department works with staff and the Board of Directors on fundraising activities including special events, donor cultivation, and promotional services for the organization, and also develops relationships with foundations and corporate sponsors.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

I. Financial Gifts
Financial Gifts to EBALDC help to enhance the quality of life for residents at our affordable housing units. EBALDC seeks to create a sense of community and safety within each development by integrating facilities for childcare, community rooms, play areas for youth, community gardens, landscaping, security cameras and fences. Most of the housing funding sources go towards developing the infrastructure of the building. Amenities such as supplies for community gardens, equipment for the children's play areas, and equipment for computer rooms and cameras for security depend on our success in attracting funding.

II. Volunteer
EBALDC's Family Economic Success Department (FES) conducts Volunteer Income Tax Services from December until April to help low income families claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EIT). We seek volunteers who are willing to take the IRS training and dedicate time during the income tax season.

III. United Way
EBALDC participates in the United Way Workplace Giving Campaign. Employers deduct the contributions from your paycheck. To designate a contribution to EBALDC through the United Way Workplace Campaign, contact your Employers Human Resource Department. A little a month, goes a long way.

IV. In-Kind Donations
Childrens Holiday Gifts: EBALDC collects toys and gifts during the Holiday season to distribute to children at our developments. Gifts that are gender neutral and sports and electronic gifts for older children are sought.

Raffle Gifts: EBALDC holds annual Raffles to help raise funds to produce bi-annual newsletters, brochures and marketing material. Donations are sought for raffle items such as: restaurant certificates, sporting events tickets, timeshare vacations, gift baskets, etc.

Equipment: EBALDC is in need of translation recording equipment for use at resident and community meetings. Equipment such as a projector, microphones, and digital cameras, are also needed.

How to Give

If you prefer, you can always write a check and put it in the mail. Call, write or e-mail Deborah Taylor, Development Director, for information on contributing to EBALDC programs, or to be added to the mailing list for the EBALDC Update, our semi-annual newsletter.
