EBALDC serves an ethnically diverse population through its rental, home ownership and family economic success programs. As of May, 2004, 39% are African American, 44% are Asian & Pacific Islander, 4% are Latino, 5% White and 8% represent other ethnic groups (the totals do not include those served through the Neighborhood Revitalization Program). EBALDC's constituents include very low, and low income Asian immigrants and refugees, and other low-income communities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The organization's primary geographic boundaries are Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The income level of EBALDC program participants, residents and home buyers are: 69% very low (below 50% of median); 25% low (50-80%); 5% moderate (80%-120%) and 1% above 120% of median. These can vary because median income is determined annually by HUD based on the area median income or AMI of all Alameda and Contra Costa County residents. EBALDC helps approximately 2500 adults and children annually through its housing and economic development programs. EBALDC has done much of its work in partnership with other non profits, schools, churches, local government, and for profit partners. |
