Summary
The Giant Road Family Apartments project, located on a 2.6 acre former trucking site in San Pablo, CA, currently provides 86 units of new affordable multi-family permanent rental housing to extremely low and very low-income families and individuals living in Contra Costa County. The units are targeted for families and individuals with initial household incomes between 30% and 60% of Contra Costa County Area Median Income (AMI). Two of the 86 units are set aside for onsite management staff housing. The Giant Road Family Apartments include 12 supportive housing units reserved for homeless persons with disabilities. Supportive services will be provided to these residents both on and off-site through a partnership with Rubicon Programs of Richmond, CA.
The overall site features an internal loop street, between and around the 5 main buildings. There are approximately 1,800 sf of management offices and community space and a 1,400 sf childcare center that will serve approximately 30 children. There is a large landscaped internal courtyard available to residents that includes approximately 2,000 sf of outdoor playground space to be shared with the childcare center. Alongside the Giant Road Family Apartments are the market-rate Devon Square townhomes developed by Pulte Homes.
