Profits Enslave the World
Philip Vera Cruz Centennial CommemorationFilipino Activist Philip Vera Cruz was integral to the creation of the United Farm Workers of California, and also spoke out against injustices faced by Filipino migrant laborers in the U.S. The exhibition's eclectic contrast of Philippine history and current commentary on American labor, housing and foreign policy issues reflect Vera Cruz's broad span of concerns which he always spoke freely about. The exhibit features the work of a cross-section of painters, photographers, poets, musicians, and archivists and is co-sponsored by the Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines, the Filipino American National Historical Society and Filipinos for Affirmative Action.
