Qualifications/Position Summary

The Director of Real Estate Development manages all aspects of affordable housing and real estate development activities. These activities include new construction, building rehabilitation, formation of public and private partnerships, identifying and securing construction and/or permanent financing, and construction, management. Supervise project managers, asst. project managers and RED administrative staff. Oversee development consistent with EBALDC’s mission and strategic plan.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

• Strong management, team building and interpersonal skills. Minimum 3 years experience in management to supervisory position
• In depth know ledge of affordable housing finance and real estate development process
• Excellent conflict‐resolution and problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to operate in a fast paced environment
• Familiar with East Bay housing issues, particularly Oakland, preferable
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Real Estate, Business, Planning or related field, or equivalent training
