The East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) presents a new exhibit of portraits by local Asian women artists – Tiffany Eng, Sylvia La, Joy Liu and Erin Yoshi. at the Asian Resource Gallery (ARG). The exhibit will run from October 19th through December 2009 and is open Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. A free public reception will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Asian Resource Gallery.
Tiffany Eng, Sylvia La, Joy Liu and Erin Yoshi are renown for their relentless and prolific public statements against stereotypical imagery of Asians and other people of color. Focusing on women in particular, these artists have collaborated to present in a group show of mixed media work and paintings at the Asian Resource Gallery in Oakland’s Chinatown. The exhibit will run from October 19th thru the second week of December. A free public reception with the artists will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 6 PM.
The Asian Resource Gallery, which specializes in presenting works of artists of color, is a project of the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, and this exhibit is co-sponsored by the EastSide Arts Alliance.
