Neighborhood Economic Development

The Neighborhood Economic Development Department is dedicated to empowering diverse low-income individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations by mobilizing resources and facilitating collaborations. The NED department includes the following program areas: Family Economic Success (FES), Resident Services and Community Planning and Organizing.

Our Family Economic Success (FES) programs assist families and individuals to stabilize their financial situations and to plan for long term economic self-sufficiency. FES provides financial literacy training for youth and adults, financial counseling, Individual Development Accounts (IDA) and free income tax preparation to help low income families increase their self-sufficiency.

Our Resident Services programs provide onsite services at our family and senior residential developments. Depending on the needs of the residents at each development, we are able to coordinate programs for childcare, afterschool youth, computer training, ESL, healthcare services, as well as individual counseling and referral services.

Our Community Planning and Organizing program works with EBALDC Real Estate Department Project Managers to coordinate community planning and organizing related to various components of EBALDC's current and future housing development projects.
