For the past 33 years, Lynette Jung Lee has dedicated her life to building vibrant neighborhoods and serving the people of Oakland and the East Bay region. As the Executive Director of the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), Lynette grew the organization from a staff of 6 to 85, and it is now one of the region's leading nonprofit housing and community development organizations.
Lynette has announced that she will be leaving EBALDC at the end of 2009. In honor of her incredible leadership and dedication, the Board of Directors of EBALDC has established the Lynette Jung Lee Tribute Campaign.
The goal of the Campaign is to raise $500,000 for resident services, such as computer labs, financial coaching for residents, exercise and activities for seniors, childcare and after school programs for families, mental health programs, health services, an emergency loan program and asset building enabling residents to secure homeownership opportunities.
These resident services have traditionally been difficult to fund, and now, in these economic times, even more so. The goal of the Campaign is to securely establish these services in all of EBALDC's properties. Without these services, residents would not be as successful
in their transition to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Naming Opportunities
You can designate your contribution to have an EBALDC building, courtyard, or computer lab named after you. Or, you can simply contribute towards the cost of these activities. Revenue from Naming Opportunities will be used to support the Tribute Campaign.
